Nancy founded Carolina Case Management & Rehabilitation Services, Inc. in 1995, in response to the industry need for highly qualified, efficient case managers dedicated to providing responsible, ethical and cost-effective rehabilitation services. Nancy has worked in managed care, vocational counseling, job development and placement, and business management for over 30 years. She is a graduate of Meredith College and UNC-Chapel Hill. She attended post-graduate studies at NC State University in Counseling and is a Certified Case Manager (CCM) and a Certified Disability Management Specialist (CDMS). Nancy is a member and past President of the Carolinas Chapter of International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals (IARP), member of National Rehabilitation Association (NRA) and Case Management Society of America (CMSA). In her spare time, Nancy enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, reading, and running.
As co-founder of Carolina Case Management and Rehabilitation Services, Inc., Carla’s primary goal is to maintain focus on quality case management services. Carla’s nursing experience includes services in case management, managed care, public health, and orthopedic/neurosurgical nursing. She has maintained a Registered Nursing License since 1983 and Certified Case Manager (CCM) designation since 1994. Carla has been a member and board member of the Carolina’s Chapter of IARP (International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals) for several years and is currently serving as Treasurer of this Association.
John graduated from NC State University in 1983 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering. Upon graduation, he got a job as an Industrial Engineer, working with manufacturing personnel to maximize the efficiency of production lines and also teaching courses to other engineers on techniques for productivity improvement and maximizing efficiency. In 1990, John went back to school and earned his MBA Degree from Duke University while also working in Worldwide Customer Service, where he was responsible for Global Allocation and Distribution of several product lines. He then moved into Product Marketing Management, where he assumed marketing responsibility for two key product lines generating $150 million in sales. John then went on to work as US Sales Director for one of Toshiba’s product lines before moving to IBM where he became Marketing Brand Manager for new tech products. He left IBM to go to Visara, where he worked his way up to Vice President of Marketing for the global computer provider. Finally, John joined CCM in 2001. His role at CCM includes managing the headquarter office, as well as heading up technology, human resources, and finance. Through his leadership and in conjunction with industry partners, John has positioned CCM as a forerunner in technology and software implementations. In his spare time, John enjoys spending time with his wife and family and traveling. He is also an avid distance runner and enjoys riding both road and mountain bikes.
Jim is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) with a Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Psychology. While working with the NC Division of Vocational Rehabilitation as both counselor and supervisor, Jim received extensive training to work with a variety of disability groups including individuals with orthopedic and neurological impairments, spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries and mental illness. Since 1980, Jim has provided medical and vocational rehabilitation services to the injured worker and other persons with disabilities in Central NC and Western NC North Carolina. Jim has been involved in private rehabilitation since 1993. In response to his talent and dedication to his profession, Jim now serves as Vice President of Case Management for Carolina Case Management.
Tonya received her Master’s Degree in Industrial/Organizational Applied Psychology from Clemson University in 1990. She has worked in both public and private sectors providing rehabilitation case management, on-the-job training for clients with varied degrees of disabilities, extensive job development for unemployed clients and medical management services for the injured worker. She is active in her local chapters of the National Rehabilitation Association (NRA), American Psychological Association (APA), NC Psychological Association (NCPA) and the NC Association of Rehabilitation Professionals (IARP). She has been with Carolina Case Management since 1996. She supervises a group of medical and vocational case managers located throughout North and South Carolina.
Toni earned her Nursing Degree from Southern Adventist University in 1989. She has worked in Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, and North Carolina. She has been providing medical case management services for injured workers since 1995, first as a telephonic case manager, and then as a field case manager starting in 1999. She has been CRRN certified since 1999. Her background also includes obstetric nursing, elder care assessment, pediatric and orthopedic surgery. Toni has been the Director of Telephonic Case Management for CCM since January 2015.
Amy received a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and a Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling and Vocational Evaluation from East Carolina University. She completed a post-graduate program of advanced studies in Employee Assistance Counseling at ECU. Amy is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) and a Certified Vocational Evaluation Specialist (CVE) with many years of experience in medical and vocational case management. Since 1993, she has been providing services to injured workers, which include vocational evaluation, transferable skills analyses, job analyses, job placement and labor market surveys. Amy joined CCM in 1996. She has been a Case Management Supervisor since 2000 and is the Director of Vocational Services at CCM.
Susan received her Nursing Degree from Guilford Technical Community College in 1991. She was a NC Nurse Scholars Scholarship recipient. She worked in various critical care and trauma settings. She began her career in Workers’ Compensation in 1996. She has worked as a Workers’ Comp Team Leader in Utilization Management, Telephonic Case Management and Medical Bill review. She has been a Field Nurse Case Manager since 1999. She obtained her CCM certification in 2001. Other areas of nursing experience are orthopedic trauma, ocular injuries and surgical services. Susan has been with CCM since 2010.
Lynsie graduated from Piedmont Technical College as an LPN in 2008 and went on to obtain her RN. She worked in the Urgent Care setting and then moved into the field of Home Health Care. After having her first child, she transitioned into the field of case management. Lynsie has been with Carolina Case Management since 2017.
Most of Tammy’s experience has been in Occupational Health and Workers’ Compensation Case Management. She worked for a textile and manufacturing company for 16 years as the Occupational Health Nurse Manager/Safety Manager before her employment with CCM. She received her Associate Degree in Nursing in 1990, her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing in 2004 from Winston-Salem State University, and her Master’s Degree in Nursing with concentration in Healthcare Leadership/Management in 2007 from Duke University. She has been with CCM since 2007 and supervises Medical Case Managers located throughout North Carolina and South Carolina. She is a certified Occupational Health Nurse Specialist and an active member of the NC Association of Rehabilitation Professionals (IARP). Tammy’s areas of expertise include injury/illness prevention, workers’ compensation claims management, and health promotion programs.
Deborah began her nursing career as an LPN in 1994. She later obtained her ADN in 2004. During her Nursing career, she has worked in a variety of settings including Employee Occupational Health Clinic, Rural Health Clinic, Hospital Med/Surg, Personal Care Services and Hospice. She began her career in Workers Compensation as an FCM in 2009 and later transitioned to TCM in 2016. She obtained National Case Management Certification in 2016. She joined Carolina Case Management in 2021.
Maureen received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Florida. She has 18 years of clinical experience in hospital settings (in Florida, Louisiana, Texas, Georgia, and Oklahoma). While at the hospital, she worked in several areas, including ICU, Neurology, Orthopedics, Recovery Room, Dialysis and Management. For the last 25 years, Maureen has worked in Medical Case Management in North Carolina. The last 16 of those years have been as a Medical Case Management Supervisor. Maureen has been with Carolina Case Management since 2013.
Allison graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology. She worked for 5 years as a Rehabilitation Counselor for the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services in Dunn, NC. While employed with NCDVR, she decided to return to school to obtain her Master’s Degree. She graduated from Campbell University with a Master of Education Degree in Guidance and Counseling. She obtained her Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) designation in October 1995. She has been employed in the rehabilitation field since 1989 and in private rehabilitation since 1995. Allison joined CCM in 2002. She is experienced in the areas of vocational evaluation, job placement, case management, job site evaluation, job seeking skills training, job coaching, critical incident stress debriefing, long term disability, job analyses and vocational counseling. Allison is a member of IARP (International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals).
Pam earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Atlantic Christian College in 1985. She has been a case manager since 1999, received her CCM in 2001, and joined Carolina Case Management in 2010. She worked as a hospital case manager for Select Specialty, a long-term acute care hospital in Greensboro, NC. She has extensive field case management experience and supervisory experience in Workers’ Compensation cases involving spinal, foot and ankle, knee, neurosurgical back and neck, trauma, burns, post-traumatic stress, paraplegia, and catastrophic injuries.
